Danepak bacon have just announced the new face of their humorous TV commercial campaign; former super-middleweight boxing champion Chris Eubank.

Eubank is set to play a Hamburglar style anti-hero whose bungling attempts to spoil the Danepak couple's bacon enjoyment invariably come awry. Under the working title of The Boxing Jihadi, Eubank's character suffers humiliation after humiliation as he tries to scupper the Danish pair's plans of tucking into a good old British bacon sarnie as doing so goes against his Islamic priciples as decreed by Shariah Law.
However, the move has met with more than its fair share of contoversy; UK Muslim groups have declared a fatwah on Eubank and claimed that his associating with a bacon company and profiteering from its adverts is nothing short of apostasy. They have called for his immediate beheading.
Eubank is no stranger to controversy. In 1992, he was involved in a fatal collision when he lost control of his car on the London to Brighton road; the car came off the road and killed a building site worker. He was convicted of driving without due care and attention, fined £250 plus £1,450 costs, and had six penalty points added to his driving licence.
The adverts are due to air this summer.
